We were surprised to find out that K-mart has its own diapers
called Little Ones. We were even more surprised after we tried
out these diapers. Quality and endurance wise these diapers can
be compared to the best brand diapers in the market. This diaper
has several good qualities and only few negatives that we would
like to discuss here. Lets start from the negative and finish
with the positive. You can probably guess already that we liked
this diaper :) and we will show you why.
The picture on the left shows
the strap on this diaper. This is very sharp and can scratch
the baby skin.

There are a few negative sides to this diaper, like non-stretchy
waist and sides of the diaper and sharp-cornered sticky tabs
that are sticking everywhere because they are literally sticky.
This diaper's waist is made from non stretching material as well
as its side flaps thus when baby is bending or sitting down it
may be uncomfortably tight and intervening with the movement of
your child. We always keep emphasizing the importance of the
stretchy materials used in diaper manufacturing. As your child
grows motor development takes up a huge part in your child's
development. You want your baby to be as mobile as possible for
him to discover the world around him and his own physical
abilities. That's why to have a comfortable stretching diaper is
so essential. Nobody wants something tight and restraining
hanging on their hips that makes it hard to get up or to sit
down.
Another down side of this diaper is the sharp cornered plastic
sticky tabs. They might be done round cornered to prevent from
pinching the baby while moving. However, the sticky tabs are
quite small and attached to wide long side flaps of the diaper
so when the diaper is put on your baby these plastic tabs are
secured in the center and are not likely to come in contact with
your child's body. Some of you might even like these sticky tabs
because they are sticky like stickers and they stick not only to
the special plastic ribbon located in front of the diaper but
also to everything else, like baby's body, so you have to be
careful during diaper change. Well, they are sticking the best
to the plastic line in front of the diaper and hold diaper in
its place well.

Little Ones has all core "good diaper" requirements:
wide, has a great sponge factor, is soft, well protecting from
leaks, has an inner layer that keeps moisture inside the diaper.
Little Ones is wider than Huggies Supreme & Ultratrim, Americas
choice, and as wide as Pampers Cruisers. Although its waist and
side flaps are not stretchy, they are wide enough to well wrap
around your baby while still leaving some room fro comfortable
movement. Our first reaction after putting this diaper on a baby
was: "it is wide and big!" This is a huge positive sign of this
diaper because you want a diaper which would hug your child's
body well and protect clothing from unexpected leaks. By the
way, the diaper sides that go around the child's legs are wide
as well and they are doing their job well. It is not enough, of
course, to have well hugging sides of the diaper to protect from
leakage, absorbency factor is the key. This diaper is extremely
absorbent. It can hold two full bottles of 8 ounces each of
liquid and still not be leaking (as oppose to America's Choice
diaper which has a bad Spongefactor). The inner layer that keeps
liquid away from baby's skin feels dry when diaper contains a
few pees and loses its dry feeling when diaper contains a lot of
liquid. Nevertheless, this diaper is good in not causing diaper
rash although it does not contain any special diaper rash
preventing ointments or perfumed lotions.
For the price that you pay for the Little Ones it is a discovery
for budget conscious parents. You can found them in K-mart store
near you only but they are worth trying out!
