It is quite tricky to catch your 15 month old for a diaper change, let alone to make them lie down on a mat. All parents have been there and done that!  Once the squirmy baby is in your hands, you wish you could just slip that diaper on and be done with it. Huggies Slip-on diaper is an attempt to solve that problem. It is a product between the Pull-up and a regular diaper for babies that just won’t stay still even for one minute. There are good and there are bad sides to this diaper, so let’s review the positive first.

Visual appeal - good!

Huggies Slip-on diaper is very cute, with Disney design and is quite appealing for its young customers. The visual appeal is important for the potty training time.

Potty training incentive - excellent!

This diaper is quite good for infants who are potty training. They are easy to remove and easy to slide on again. They make the little ones feel proud and “grown up” when they can pull their own diaper off and on by themselves.  Wait a minute, isn’t it something what Pull ups are made for? Yes, but Slip-ons are a little softer, more comfortable and have more cushion.

Absorbency - good!

Slip-ons  are  more absorbent than Pull ups. This diaper absorbs more and thus you will experience less leaks. However, there were some reports of night time leakage. Just to be on a safe side, we would recommend to put a regular diaper for the nighttime. Better to be safe than sorry!

The ease of use - good!

The diaper also has velcro tabs that are easy to undo while changing a messy diaper. However, that brings us right to the discussion of some flaws of this product.

The minuses

This diaper comes off easy not only for you but for your child too! The size of the diaper is excellent for the chubbier babies, but if your baby is on a lower end of the weight chart your regular diaper size might not match with Slip-ons size. Some parents report this diaper slipping off easily and being too lose around waist. Velcro tabs are easily undone and your little explorer will explore this option, guaranteed! And last but not least is cost. This diaper is quite expensive! Compared to regular Huggies diapers, you get less diapers for the same price. So many parents wonder which diaper to choose for their active toddlers.Their first priority is the right fit to protect from leaks. When buying Monkey Doodlez diaper pay attention to the weight showed next to the swim diaper’s size. If your baby weighs 18lbs, size S would be too tight and too small although they say that size “Small” Monkey Doodles swim diaper is for babies within the 10-18 lbs range. Medium size diaper would be a perfect fit for a 20lbs+ baby, and too loose for a 15lbs baby. This diaper comes in four sizes: Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. Price wise this diaper is among the more expensive ones. If you are buying a solid color diaper you might expect to pay approximately $13 per diaper. If you are considering one of those cute printed ones, you are looking to spend anywhere from $16 to $20 dollars per diaper.

The perfect match

First of all size is accurate and fits babies and toddlers well. The overall impression of the diaper’s size was positive. It was not baggy and not too tight. It fit well and stayed on where it was supposed to stay. Because this swim diaper was snug, it didn’t let too much sand in at the beach. It was a big plus for this diaper. Toddlers usually immerse themselves in sand and sandy shore water and they end up with a lot of sand in some body parts that make them very uncomfortable. FINIS swim diaper was great in this regard. It was easy to put it on, even when children were wet and sandy already. If you ever tried to put anything on a wet and sandy toddler then you know how challenging it is! A wider cut out for the legs allowed FINIS swim diaper to be put on without much trouble and taken off with ease. FINIS swim diapers comes in several sizes in order to provide the perfect fit for your baby:

Small: 3-6 months, 9-15lbs.

Medium: 6-12 months, 15-22lbs.

Large: 12-18 months, 22-28lbs.

XLarge: 18-24 months, 28-33lbs.

Good protection from unwanted leaks

Good durability

The overall quality of the diaper meets the standards and expectations. FINIS swim diapers are made with 100% polyester fabric and chlorine resistant material. You can wash and reuse them again and again and they still maintain their bight colors and shapely design. The care instructions on the diaper say to hand wash in cold water only, however during testing stage we machine - washed them in warm water with a regular detergent at least 10 times and diapers still had the same “new” bright look and not a sign of usage. This swim diaper has somewhat shiny colorful exterior and a white smooth inner layer, all polyester for fast drying and durability. The cost of one diaper is $9.99 per diaper which is a very reasonable price for a high quality and excellent durability reusable swim diaper.
