It is
important that diaper is fastened correctly: the sticky tabs
should be fastened symmetrically, that is, both of them should
be fastened at equal distance from the center of the diaper. if
the sticky tab is fastened too far from the center, the gap
between the diaper and baby's leg will be bigger and thus leaks
can occur. If a sticky tab is fastened very close to the center,
it can make diaper too tight and the diaper's edge can painfully
brush against your baby's leg.
Often the problem with newborn babies is that their stools are
of liquid nature and can leak through their diaper's waist while
they sleep. We had this problem often, even with our top rated
Pampers Swadlers diapers. Look for diapers that have a
stretching to fit waist (huggies supreme, for example). Such
diaper's waist comes closer to your baby's body and better
prevents such leaks.
