Americas Choice is a Superfresh grocery store's product. This
brand produces several consumer products and are mainly sold in
SuperFresh chains. Many consumers are not familiar with this
product. However, this is widely available in the east coast.
Its price is less than that of the popular brand diapers but
quality wise it stands not much lower than them. Some consumers
identify this diaper among the leading diaper brands along with
other widely advertised brands. Our observation, however, is
that this diaper is an average diaper with medium absorbency
level and an "ok" protection from leakages. The top surface of
this diaper is not as soft as other brand name diapers. Lets
look at it closer.
The circled area shows
the tip of the back strap which is not very soft and might
scratch the baby's skin. Well, Clifford seem to be enjoying
the bone.

This diaper has a good size. Bigger than Huggies Supreme and
smaller than Little Ones or Pampers. In other words the size is
about average. It has wide back flaps and wide front flaps,
which hugs the baby very well. Sticky tabs that hold diaper in
its place do not have sharp edges so they do not pinch if they
touch your baby's body. The sticky tabs do not have a firm grip
and they can be easily unfastened by your child. This diaper has
a stretching waist in front and rear sides but if stretched the
waist would lengthen only half an inch at the most.
All the
little details mentioned above are of the somewhat lesser
importance compared to the diaper's ability to keep in the
liquid. This diaper performed very poorly in this category. If
your child is feeding during the night you will definitely have
to change this diaper once or even twice because this diaper
starts leaking after absorbing approximately 6 ounces of liquid.
Our baby would get up each night entirely wet sleeping in a
puddle when she wore this diaper. Furthermore, when this diaper
is saturated it leeks liquid through its outer surface,
especially is pressed. Not a pleasant experience! Obviously this
diaper is quite ok if you have a baby whose needs are constantly
monitored by someone and we mean constantly. But for others they
might be not that efficient after all.

Manufacturers of this diaper added quite interesting details to
it: ingredients from rash ointments. We are not sure what are
these ingredients and whether they help but while testing the
diaper the baby didn't develop diaper rash even with such a poor
diaper's performance. We normally would expect serious diaper
rash after such leakage, but maybe those ingredients must have
helped and we did not see any obvious rash development. Perhaps,
the manufacturers knew about the leakage and found adding the
ingredient to prevent diaper rash is much a cheaper solution
than changing the entire process in the production line! Just a
weird thought, don’t remember this!
Conclusion is as follows: You could save a lot by using these
diapers over other premium brand name diapers. Also if you are
constantly busy and you are among those who shop for diapers in
regular grocery stores to save time, then this may be a good
alternative for expensive premium brands. However keep in mind
that there is a possibility of leakage. Overall America's Choice
Ultra Thin Stretch diaper is good and worth trying once. Give us
your opinion.
On another
note it does have the nice big old Clifford!
